How to Get Involved

The charge of the AS Finance and Business Committee is to help registered student organizations put on successful events and determine the appropriate allocation of student funds.

The AS Finance and Business Committee is composed of;

One Chair, One Vice-Chair, and 8 other Senators, appointed by the AS Internal Vice President

Chief Financial Officer, 10 Finance Officers appointed by the AS President

In order to become a Senator, you will have to run in an A.S. election. From there, you can request the Internal Vice President to place you in the Finance and Business Committee. The chair of Finance and Business is also a senator appointed by the Internal Vice President. You’re more likely to be placed as chair if you have experience in the committee or plans to improve the committee.

In order to become the Internal Vice President, you will have to run in an A.S. election. You are more likely to win if you have experience as either a senator or have a position in the office or have plans to improve the office.

In order to become a Finance Officer, you will have to apply on the Committee on Committees website. They will look at your application, possibly chose you for an interview, and send their recommendation to the A.S. President, who will make the final decision. Your appointment will be sent to the A.S. Senate to approve your appointment.

In order to become the Chief Financial Officer, you will need to follow the same process as a Financial Officer, but you will be more likely to be placed as C.F.O if you have experience in the committee or plans to improve the committee.
